Same Powered Engine Mileage

Vehicles with the same engines should ideally deliver same mileages, so practically we cannot do a gas mileage comparison between them. It would not make any sense at all.

For example, two wheel drive versions of Lexus RX 400h and Toyota Highlander Hybrid have 3.3-liter six-cylinder engine, they both deliver 25 highway and 28 city miles per gallon. Interestingly both the versions have 3.3-liter six-cylinder engine and they even delivered same mileage.

One more example could be Mercury Mariner Hybrid 4WD and Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD, they both use 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and delivers 27 highway and 28 city miles per gallon.
