The state of patent pending

April 5th, 2008 | by admin |

The definition to  patent pending is something very much associated and a part of the patent system. A person or a firm is yet to get a patent and on the other hand has applied for a patent as well. This situation is called patent pending. When does such a situation occur? Every patent issuing office across the world examines the patent application for all relevant compliance of the patent applied for. Since the law considers even the slightest making or modification to an existing invention as infringement, time is taken to study before issuance of a patent. Patent pending is therefore this interim time or the pending period.
