Should Nannys Be Informed You Have A Nanny Cam

March 31st, 2008 | by admin |

There is no doubt that having nanny cameras installed in your home will insure that you know exactly how well your children are being taken care of. But, should you let your caregivers know you have these cameras installed and that they are being recorded?

If you tell them about the cameras and they object, you may have just prevented yourself from hiring the wrong person. Some would say the relationship between the nanny and the family is built on trust. If the nanny discovers later that she has been secretly taped she may quit due to this trust being violated.

Others would say they don't care about the trust factor, they only care about the well being of their children. If a nanny knows exactly where the cameras are installed she may abuse the child outside the viewing area.
