As the world’s second largest capitalized stock market it sets the standards for the Asian. In 2007 it made it’s first inroads towards control of the Singapore Stock Exchange, it’s largest Asian competitor. It is rumored that the initial investment of 303 million dollars was just the first step in eventually taking control. if it does take over or absorb the Singapore Exchange it will be the leading player in the Asian Pacific area.
