Offshore Investment Explained

February 10th, 2008 | by admin |

An  offshore investment  is an investment made in a country other than where an investor lives. There are several reasons for making an offshore investment. The main reason is to avoid (or evade, if done illegally) taxes that would affect investments if they were made in a home country. Some countries have gained reputations as great locations for offshore investment. Locations with high interest rates and low taxes will of course always be favored as prime spots to make investments. Before making an investment of this type, be sure to consult with an attorney to ensure everything is kept legal.
