Can dried out contact lenses still worn

I ordered a pair of color contacts back in July and when they arrived I didn't open them and kept them in the vial until mine needed to be replaced. Then the other day I noticed one of the vials had no more solution and it was cracked at the bottom, no idea how this could've happened because they were sitting untouched in my medicine cabinet. Anyways, I put the dried out contact lens in solution and it looks to be fine but I'm afraid to wear it. The obvious answer would be to just throw it out but some people in this forum have said dried out lenses are still wearable, just wondering what I should do?
