We installed foam insulation board in our home, because my husband is allergic to the pink stuff.
November 30th, 2007 | by admin |Everyone knows that rolls of insulation can be irritating to your skin. My husband is a contractor. Once, when he was installing insulation, he had an allergic reaction. He was installing the rolls of pink insualtion in a home that he was building. His skin became very irritated, which is normal for most people. Soon, he was finding it hard to breathe, and his throat felt as though it were closing. He was treated for the condition, at a local hospital. Since then, he will no longer work with the material. If a homeowner desires that type of insulation, my husband has his employees install it. He will no longer touch the stuff. We just built a new home. When it came time to insulate the house, he couldn’t use the pink stuff, and he doesn’t like to use blown in insulation because it can settle and eventually sag. My husband decided to use foam insulation board. It works just as well as the other types of insulation, without the side effects or the pitfalls.
