The start of the new culture in the US

There were over 10 million US home with a Television by the end of the 50s and this had started to be the focal point of the modern family living room. As such it influenced the interiior design. Drive through fast-food was new and very popular and there were more than 4000 outdoor drive in cinemas where teenagers could simply drive up open the window and enjoy a view a film from the comfort of their own hot rod! All these had influences on how people lived and used their homes.
